Resealing/replacing the water pump is very cheap maintenance on those tractors considering that it is gear drive( at least I believe the 4250 is) and a leak can put coolant into the oil and ruin the engine. at a minimum check and unplug the drain hole between the seals. If the 4250 turns out to be belt drive, then disregard this entire post.
