| Correct martin, I was referring to the regulations in Indiana. In my original post I used the abbreviation for Indiana (In.) That might have confused people so after reading your post I went back & changed it to the full spelling. From what I can gather eading the DNR regulations is that they don't have to be registered when used on your own property. I quess my question boils doen to "is a road ditch along your field considered "public property" or "private property" Here in Indiana your property line is considered to the center of the road in most instances though I know of at least one instance where the property line is actually on the opposite side of the road. When the DNR officer stopped my son a couple years ago he was in the road ditch along a field that he farms. Officer gave him 3 days to get his 4 wheeler registered or get a ticket. Son had just crossed a public road to get from one field to another so I'm not sure if that instigated things or just the fact he was in a road side ditch. This particular officer has even ticketted people for riding 4 wheelers in their own yard.
