Centralia, MO | I doubt you'll get one straight answer since this can be a very confusing area of law. However, one thing I can tell you is that most ATV's cannot be licensed in any way because they don't have DOT approved tires. There are a few golf cart like machines with DOT tires that can be licensed. In MO, you can't be on the roads at all without a license except for farm equipment. Some of my neighbors claim hanging an SMV on one makes it farm equipment. Of course, the police don't really enforce anything on the gravel roads but I had a Sheriff try to pull me over once when I was making a short run on a blacktop road. When I saw his lights come on I made a quick turn onto a gravel road and he shut off his lights and went on. | |
