Tommy if you can get around 500 hp out of a 12.7, 600 doesn't seem that far away and the radiators on the big tractors seem quite a bit bigger than on road trucks. I agree there is no replacement for displacement but John Deere has been pushing mid to upper 500s out of 12.5 and the 13.5 for a few years. It will be interesting to see how far these engines make it. J. R.
I agree with that to a point , a truck engine is only loaded to 100% for very short times .
A tractor engine can be loaded to 100% for hours . |
