Driftless SW Wisconsin | What you are saying varies from area to area, especially in the northern plains. ATT is operating the former Alltel network only in areas where there would otherwise be just one carrier, as I understand it. Verizon bought owns and operates former Alltel network in areas where there was no Verizon service, such as some northern plains areas. I feel from my travels that Verizon offers the broadest coverage for rural areas, especially after adding Alltel in some areas. In specific local areas, as always, that may not be true. If you are looking for service mostly in one specific spot, go with the one with a tower you can see out your window. Jim at Dawn
