Some/many of the area growers around me were pretty much "bragging" how big the crop was last fall.

Because of my strip tilling, many were "curious" what my yields were. My standard question was yield in 56# units or bushels. Each and every one asked for bushels.

Figuring the yield that way I was many times about 10 bu/ac "better" than what they had. They were going by the number of bins they had full, I was using the test weight to come up with true bushels.

BTW, when I reported my APH, dry matter per load was calculated (net pounds of wet weighed on certified scales) with the moisture probed and then figured against 47.6# of dry matter in a 56# bushel of 15% corn.
