| There is an option that you can set in the OS that is supposed to make it safe remove cards and flash drives, etc, w/o the safe eject. And you card writer may very well have that built in. Now you are over my head, too. But sounds like you were trying to take precautions. And it could have happened in the GS2, too. But somewhere, a bit or two got twiddled. Google for software to copy raw card images, and you will likely find something. And, as another poster said... a unix type operating system might give you more flexibility. Most of the powerful disk drive partitioning and formatting software actually runs from a copy of linux that it boots up to. | |
