Little River, TX | It is a Radar Estimated rainfall. That is how far the Radar Signal goes.
Some of the Radar estimates need a few grains of salt. I can not say about the Humid East but in the Arid West the rain clouds can be higher and with the low humidifies the rain can evaporate to zero before reaching the ground.
HERE in the transition zone between the Humid East & Arid West the estimated rains can be close to an inch while on the ground we find only a tenth or two. It does cool the air nicely though. | |
