Your going to have harvest losses no matter what ya do.   Problem is those beaners are big and white, so they are extremely visable.

Ive only harvested navy's for around 9 years.   Used a lexion and CaseIH with flex heads to harvest em, both heads have to be pitched forward (down) to get the cutter bar closer to the ground.......Then pitched back to get going in soys  (don't even try running the pitch down on soys, just don't, thank me later)......

Navy's have been grown here in a small amount comparatively for many years, all the windrowers, special combines have gone away except for the guys who grow other beaners.

Im sure there are years we could save more beans by having another 100gs worth of equipment, but for 300 acres a year, and probably not gaining every year, doubt the economics of extra machines taking up more shed space.

Thats whats goin on here, probably different somewhere else.

BTW: we only plant VISTA's, they seem to stay up more than the others.
