WC Minn | In cold Minnesota you can put 32% in bin freeze it until spring and start fans, at 32% you need about 5hp per 1000bu to make it work. For example a 27 foot bin with a 15 hp fan could have maybe 6 feet of corn in it or about 3000 bu. As a practical matter it doesn't work, better to let it stand. 24% is doable but still need to air dry in spring to be cost effective vs fan time in sub freezing temps. | |
