Subject: Re: An interesting perspective about a gold standard

Gold has held value for Hundreds of years in about every cilivazation around the world. Food is perishable, Would you want retire on a lifetime supply of food in storage? Chance are that wouldn't work out very good either. Throughout history gold is just a way to preserive wealth not to profit. Although with the specultive markets we have today I'm not sure gold at $1200 a ounce is the best way to preserve wealth in the short term.
