25¢ gasoline is now $2.50
5¢ letter postage is now 44¢.
A 5¢ candy bar is 50-75¢.
A heavy $1 breakfast at the diner now runs close to $10. No more leaving a dime tip, $2 is more the norm.
Won't be long before the change in your pocket is worth more as scrap metal than as money.
Say, does anyone know offhand what a good 5¢ cigar costs now? | |
