At 6 pm on the second day of harvest there SHOULD be at least a 30 minute line... drove right on the scale and dumped yesterday... nobody behind me either.. except 2 miles down the road back to the field... "Guys this is HARVEST isn't it?"
I'm not saying that the crop is a bust... but not looking to "wonderful" either.. TW's are... "okay" there might be some protien.. it could be a decent milling crop.. yields "so far" suck... about 2/3rd's of last year.. at best.
Lot's of rain.. maybe that's what is holding things up... but buyers better not sit on their hands.. this historically wide basis isn't going to last long.. Everyone was worried about storage... I doubt we fill what we have out here in the Country right now.
Is it possible that the futures price comes down while the basis rallies... we are $-1.30 right here... normal would be more like $-.45... A dollar rally in the basis? Only way to find out is weld the bin doors and see... ??? | |
