Subject: Re: rain totals from corn belt

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
We were in good shape with about an inch this week up until last night, (Saturday night), then had 1.75" on top of saturated ground. Terrace channels and low spots have water standing now and it is raining again. Last nights rain will kill a few low areas. Too much of a good thing.
Could be worse. About 30 miles south of me in southeast Decatur county, KS the radar estimated 12" in about 3 hours. I haven't confirmed that but one cloud just set on an area for several hours. That has to be a mess.
