Subject: RE: give livestock guys $1.58 bu subsidy

redoak - 6/9/2010 07:13 by the looks of iron on farms the past few yrs. things have not been too tough...

Also it does NOT matter what the price of corn is, rent/land costs will always be bid up until the COP matches the current market.

It is no different than cattle feeders always bidding feeder cattle right up to their break even purchase price. Right now guys buying open market feeder pigs are doing the same thing.

Always betting on the come.

If you have bid up the rental rate on a piece of land to get it away from someone else you need to look at the guy in the mirror when looking for someone to blame for your COP being too high.

Before anyone jumps on me for telling like it is I also said that the hog guys needed to look in the mirror last year, they finally did and the market responded.

What goes up comes down, and vice versa.
