The soybean plates won't work.....they won't pick up milo at all.

I use 30 cell plates as I plant 30-40000 seeds per acre.

I'd think for a food plot, where max production isn't your goal, you'd want it thicker though. I'd say at least 100,000 and would recommend a 60 cell disc.

Depending on the planter you have, you could also find someone with some John Deere feed cups to plant milo with. They would work on a Kinze 2000 series or Deere 7000 series. They are dreadfully inaccurate, but would be sufficient for a food plot.
