You can plant with it, in conjunction with mechanical markers. At about 6pm when you can't see it'll at least tell you if you're following the marker or a cultivator/disk mark in the field. Also, if you're one of these people obsessed with straight rows you can set an AB line and it'll tell you where you're out the most to help you straighten up crooked rows.....
