Earlton Ontario | We planted every field in the dust this spring. We just got an inch of rain yest and today which is the first measurable precip since April....we had spring wheat up in three-four days from planting, corn took 5 days to emerge. Yes cold spell in May spooked the crops in the muck soils.......otherwise crops weren't advanced far enough along to be affected.
We missed half the herbicide on the winter wheat as dry conditions pushed it into head really early........Winter wheat here is only 10-12 inches tall......but looks very good now we got rain.
Am very disappointed with pre-emerge chem program on beans. Was too dry for proper control.......Sow thistle and wild oats are just that............."a wild sow".............L.O.L.
