The economic of using a rodenticide are usually not good, and it may or may not be a labeled use. Their population tends to by cyclical, numbers get high then they die off for one reason or the other. They are problems for no-till winter wheat growers too.
Encourage predators and don't shoot the coyotes. This extension bulletin has info on controlling the buggers.
