I don't know what they use but I can tell you we had a 12/23 that I pulled with a 7810 2wd for a couple of years and it would have handled it a lot better if it was fwd. The problem is when you get in a wet spot you lift the planter it takes weight off the rear end of the tractor and I had a full set of front end wieghts on it for the transport wieght,so the front end sinks in and your done. I would say a fwd is the only way to go.
