Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | Ross, Back in the early 90s I made a 8-38 pull type 5100 into a 8x30 for Uncle Harold. He purchased the planter from a retirement auction and used it on his own farm.
It was 8x30 on the money. I did everything in my shed except cut off the ends of the wings and weld on the deals for the markers.
It seems to me that you folks do some custom soybean planting.
I think you may be able to get more money selling the 31 Deere vac units and sucking system off as a pile, than you would mounting the Deere stuff on your White toolbar. Plus save quite a bit of work. You may be worn out after getting your cornhead built.
Could you come up with 19 5100 units, plus two blowers.
Make your 8-38 into a 10-30. And your splitter into a 9x30.
And plant soybeans with it? For beans the rows would not have to be 'On the Money' as they are for corn.
A little concerned about tractor on the 24x20. Wish your 155 was 4wd or better yet a 160 4wd or 185 4wd. A 6215 would be just the checker. 4-210?
I may go find that fellow with the 6500 24x20 or 24x22 with the tracks on the center section. He is east of Stanhope, just off R38.
Bill Linde knows who he is.
