When I was looking at planters last summer, the JD planter shop suggested that the 1780 for my application would not be the wisest of choices. The carry wheels get VERY heavy when the planter is lifted and will start pushing dirt ahead of them in poor ground conditions.
How bad is a 1780 John Deere planter? vs White 6500?
