SW Idaho | I have found CLB cause more visual damage then real yield damage. Picture above is to late on the spraying. Been many years since I seen populations that high. Each year we get less and less of the pest.
Do they run in cycles? Is the problem just starting in the midwest? The department of ag here has released parasites. Think we released here 7 or 8 years ago. Had high number of parasite infected larva a few years after but last year test came back zero but you really had to hunt just to find a larva and this was in a field 3 miles from release site here on the home place. This year the adults are just now mating but the grain is heading out so they will not be a problem, well unless they move into the sweet corn. | |
