Subject: RE: Some are spraying for cereal leaf beetle

A good bit of acreage on Delmarva has been sprayed. We've got leaf rust and stripe rust probably just under threshold but we were running out of time to spray. We've also got cereal leaf beetle mostly under threshold but with two pests if you're going to run through it you might as well get them both. FYI the CLB larvae protect themselves by coating their backs with fecal material. When scouting you'll know how bad they are by looking at the stains on your pants. At least almost no scab this year so we should grow good quality grain. There's still a lot of feed and lower quality wheat left in tanks from last year.
