By using the weather data from the Columbia City IN. station and going by the book LOL ( 120 gdd`s for emergence ) using the bare soil temperatures the corn should have started emerging on 5/6 and using grass covered soil temperatures on 5/10.
Also the acumulated rain was 3.39inches from 4/23-5/6 and 3.57 from 4/23-5/10.
Is that weather station data close to what you experienced your did you have localized more rain?
