Subject: RE: side dressing corn with Sprayer

South Georgia
Listen to Dutch, he knows what he's talking about. I stole his idea last year, and sidedressed about half my cotton with my 6700, and all my corn this year. We're on 36" rows, planted with a 6-row planter, and I think using the streamjet nozzle and no drops, I get less on the plants than we used to when we used the 'dribble rig' that our fert. supplier provided, which had hoses dragging the ground which would flop and bounce some. To heck with drops, you'll have fertilizer all over the plants if you have them swinging and swaying. The streamjets are the bee's knees, even on my worn out boom.

On a side note, I put 50 gpa of 25% (no, that's not a typo, it's a local product), and I gotta tell you, 8 acres to the tank sucks.

edit: I was going to post a couple of pictures of sidedressing cotton last year, but I can't find them. Search my username from last summer and see if you can find them, I posted them then, and Dutch has posted some before, too.
