| In southwest Kansas and the surrounding areas it is getting very dry. The majority of our fields have not seen rain in 3 to 4 weeks. This is not an isolated area. What makes me laugh is the weather forcasters keep giving us a 70%-80% chance of rain and we don't even get rain within 100 miles. There is a lot of wheat that is burning up and a lot more that is going to fire up in the next week if rain does not fall soon. I have some that have been splitting the boot for two weeks and it is still the same and has not moved. You can dig a foot deep in powder that was hard two weeks ago. We are going from a record crop to a disaster if we don't have rain in the next 10 days. | |
