Budds have a ball seat nut that locates the wheel to the hub using the studs. Accurides, or "hub pilot" locate the wheel using the fit between the pilot hole and the center of the hub. The wheel does not fit tight on the stud and it uses a flange type nut.

More basically....Budds will take a 1 1/2" socket while Accuride will take either 30 or 33 mm.
