| First, you have to make sure that you don't have old cabling. If you have cabling like the ones in the diagram then you have new cabling. If you have bought your 500 in the last 2 yrs is also a good indication you have new cabling. If you have new cabling, there are two connectors that can power the system. One is the cable coming from the back of the 500 and the other is by the T2 box by the laptop connector. If you follow your cig/lighter plug-in (or direct power cable) 15 on diagram down to the two pin duetsch connector, it'll either be plugged into 13 which goes to the 500 or 9 which is the connector that you want it plugged into. Both work but you'll see less problems with it plugged into the connector by the T2 (9 on diagram).
