This video seems to be a pretty good review of the crash with what is known so far and he suggests there were possibly ways to save the plane but it would have taken some very clever controls to outguess the icing and stalling that was going on.

The conditions the plane got into made it very likely to go too fast or too slow at almost the same time. Trying pick a pathway out of those conditions in 30 seconds or so time is a tall order. They tried to climb above trouble and couldn’t. Perhaps going down into trouble would have given them a bit of control and hope for ice melt and recovery before hitting the ground. But going into trouble is not very intuitive on a few seconds notice.
