I had a four wheel drive and Dad has I believe a 925.
I actually liked the 4 wheel drive. It did have what I call the Americanization kit.
Padded cab, AC and heat.
The 4 wheel drive started well and ran cheap. It also rode well and had air brakes.
The fuel pump came loose and I didn't have a way, or even know how to set it. I put it where I thought it went and it worked fine.
I had only 2 problems with it.
The hired guy didn't like it and would stick it in 2 gears at once.
The other was it had a v6 engine and when on a side hill, one side of the engine was below the crank case and so it would use oil. Not a big deal as once one figured it out, you just brought oil when you worked those fields.
The 925 is pretty good as long as one doesn't engage the FWA. As others said, the gears in the knees aren't the best.
Dad used it on the auger and I think he ran 1000 acres of crop through on one tank of fuel.
I am hoping, if we have it a few more years, I get the shift pattern figured out! LOL I had a Russian employee at that time and he couldn't figure out the shift pattern, I showed him that I could shift it 3 gears without using the clutch. |
