Subject: RE: Opinions on Draper Head

Minnesota
FD70 and 2162 are the same -- 2162 is the Case IH number and FD70 is the MacDon model.
3162 is Case IH's own attempt to make a draper head. It has a pretty poor reputation and was produced for a few years before CIH went back to sourcing heads from MacDon.
FD125 is an improved version of the 70/75. FD235 has some major upgrades over the older models. MacDon has some good info on their website explaining the improvements. /212

I was looking for a draper before last harvest -- I could not find a FD70/2162 that wasn't well used and there weren't any FD135s for sale around me when I was looking. I ended up spending the extra money for a FD235 and have been very happy with it.
