Southeast SD | This is a trick I stole from my neighbor but it works great, at least for keeping hay from dragging on the hitch pin but I would think it would work to keep the corn stalks from popping your keeper pins out also..... on both the raking tractor and baling tractor I cut a piece of old baler belting with a square cut hole in it just big enough to slip over the drawbar. I slide that on the drawbar (mine have a small hole for a bolt also) and then the baler belting deflects the hay under the hitch pin, but I would think that it would deflect corn stalks under/around the hitch pin also? Possibly?? :)
Here's a terrible sketch of what I'm trying to explain because I don't have an actual picture of my setup.
