Subject: RE: electric pump for a detatch

SE, Tn.
I,ve got a 35 ton low boy with electric- hydrulic ramp on the back. I have had a lot of trouble with it. we sized the wire but keeping the connection clean and good connection at the power source is my problem. In the winter months the oil is cold and it takes a long time to raise the ramps. We connect to the simi and leave it running for extra amps. If you have a week connection at motor it will heat it up and then you got motor problem. We are wanting to put a gas motor hydrulic on our to get away from electric. Years ago had a goose neck dump trailer for hauling grain and had a lot of problem with it. The load just over worked the motor and pump then heated the wire connection.
