newred - 11/5/2026 00:16 Not a GM guy but it sounds good . Dad had one looked like that but two tone orange paint . I took it for a drive when they were away but came home early and I got caught . He said if I wanted a GM truck that bad he would co-sign the loan . I tried out an 87 it was about 16,000 . Grandfather heard about it and said you don’t want a d***** old gm do you ? You find the truck you want and I’ll co-sign whatever it is . Uncle and I went shopping, was early Sept 87 , we found an 86 left over F-150 for $10,700 that I bought and still have . There were 87 and 88 Fords at every dealer . The 86 had been ordered late and the guy backed out . They said it wss as the last 86 in the province , last of the old style , last with carburetor .

So I'm not the only guy that keeps a pickup for 40 years? I'd guess Ford and GM sold about equally here and they did sell well. Not a lot of "square bodies" left as rust took it's toll on them too. Pretty sure I could still get my money back on this one that I bought used in 86.
