It could even be as simple as a rock in the rock trap. I had a hammering noise in the feederhouse that would only happen for a few seconds and only in really good corn. Almost like it was overrunning the feeder, except I knew it wasn't. My dumb @ss finally thought maybe I should dump the rock trap, had 2 rocks in it, noise went away.
