Subject: RE: Fun With Four Ba rrels

Western Oregon
Mom had a '59 Chevy, 235 and 3 speed on the tree with overdrive. For such a big car, it got great gas mileage. Her first car was a '48 Chevy with 3 on the tree, second was a '52 with 6 cyl and auto, it got terrible gas mileage. After the '59 was T-boned, she got a '62 Chevy, 327, auto. She loved that car. Her last car was a '78 Nova, 250, auto. It was a great car for her.

I remember the sound of Grandpa's 1952 Chevy 3/4 ton flatbed. The sound of the clutch pedal squeak on the floorboard, shifting through the gears, the sound of acceleration in the 1 barrel carburetor and the whine of the rear end....James
