NW Illinois
Have looked into this several times and come back with same answer. I looked into it for having my wife help me haul water and not wanting to have her deal with gas engines. Shed where water is only has 110v. The problem is you can only run roughly up to about a 2hp electric motor so your GPM is pretty low. Low as in maybe 100 GPM if you don't have much head pressure. Dultmeier Sales has a large pump section and everytime I look it says the same thing if I want to use 110v it will just be slow. I have a 2hp air compressor in that building on 110v and it will kill the breaker if it's cold out and I try to start it. A 2hp 1 1/2 to 2" pump maybe wouldn't start as hard but I doubt I could run even a 3hp electric motor to gain GPM improvement on my setup.
