Ludington/Manistee MI area

HuskerJ - 11/4/2026 23:03 Friend of mine had some work done to his combine, was driving it home and heard a crunching noise within a half mile. The front wheel was about to fall off, they forgot to tighten the lug nuts!

Wife had  oil change and tires rotated in her Escape in the past.   Felt a funky wobble and was going to pull into store drive 40 yards ahead it didn’t make it that far and launch the tire across 4 lanes of traffic.  She called the good old boy wrecker operator to rescue her.   He found the lug nuts finger tight at the best in the remaining wheels.   Guy that owned the tire shop passed away and his wife and son took it over she wouldn’t stand behind her son’s work tow truck driver is very well respected my wife had the tow truck driver call and set the owner straight.   Neither are the caliber of folks the old man was if the tire fell off under Steve’s watch he’d dropped what he was doing and took care of it even on a Saturday night.  Screwed up the wheel well enough door didn’t open right.  Haven’t darkened their doors since.
