Is the accumulator turned down or off on the combine. That makes a huge difference for me because the hydraulics won’t act fast enough. Also does the header bounce a little on the adapter when off the ground or is it still heavy on the adapter? If you are running on 1 it sounds like it’s too heavy?? Seems like to get the adapter mechanism to work properly as far as the wing's releasing it should be at least 1.5-2 but if it’s too heavy can be tough to achieve that. Also if your bell crank bearings are shot that can make the wings bind up. Take the top covers off and see if the bell crank’s are centered when you look parallel with the side of the header or just put a couple blocks down on one side of the header and set the header down to smile that wing up and it will relieve pressure on the bell cranks to see if they are wiggling. The spot where you grease them up there is where you want to check. They have a needle bearings in there that disintegrate and will cause it to hang up and push. Let us know how you turn out. Good luck. Also have to remember the header is basically a smoke and mirrors balancing act and you have to find the balance and if something is sticking or hanging up it won’t balance.
