Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi. Pushrod engine with port injection and most problems are known by now. Probably the most reliable transmission of the big 3. The Godzilla 7.3 in the Ford seems to be pretty reliable if not idled excessively. I’m wary of long term ownership with the 6.6 gasser in the Silverado/Sierra due to direct injection.

In the half tons the small engines get the best marks for reliability. The 2.7 Ecoboost in the Ford has a great reputation and the 2.7 Ecotec in the GMs seem to be doing well. Biggest issues on both are transmissions. Don’t know about Ram but they are offering a 100k mi warranty.

The biggest thing I hear time and time again is that newer vehicles, trucks included, are much more sensitive to maintenance practices. I wouldn’t stretch oil change intervals and I would diligently service the transmission.
