I read that post on X yesterday and my first thought was why is such an obviously nearly unstable design even allowed on the market? What is the trade-off, air speed?
Exactly, they're not going to spend millions, and nearly a million a year to maintain a biplane that goes 60mph. I don't know what's different about the other jet mentioned, but the Lear jet must be acceptably stable at it's design speed, it's a very high performance plane, high speed, with comfort (and fuel economy?) at that speed. Take a look at the TN female social media pilot that crashed, she had very little experience on a beginner plane and bought a "higher performance" plane that she couldn't handle, still not even in the league of a Lear jet. |
