The really interesting part is that had I used my normal hybrids and spray just no purchased inputs, this field could have easily ran better than APH.

Question on this statement, do you think doing it this way would have gotten you a better ROI? What is the biggest influencer on ROI difference of the two practices, is it the price per bushel of sold product, or is it in the associated costs between the two practices?

The price is just way too different.
That was originally how I was going to go. Let's do our normal hybrids and that kind of stuff, but let's just take advantage of the biology and the soil that we've got going for us. Walking around the shop working on equipment. Lightning bolt hits the forehead, booming voice in your gut says you're going to certify organic..

That same voice a couple years ago said you need to give up all that extra land. I listened to that voice and it led me in the right direction.

For years I've said I'm never going to be organic but yet God has a sense of humor. Because why did he have me buy a beautiful row crop cultivator years ago. Why did he give me this training on soil and nutrient management. And the love of being with a growing crop during the summer.
So for years I've been leaning this way without even knowing I'm going this way.
