I don't understand why they were anywhere near a storm like this.
It certainly wouldn't have anything to do with a large portion of the state of Florida being covered with heavy thunderstorm activity and the ATC sector dealing with dozens of aircraft trying to find their way around the weather from original flight plans at the same time.
