I hope i can keep this short and explain correctly. I have confinement hog barns. Not friendly to electric. A row of farrowing crates the heat lamps quite working. There is 6 110 volt receptical 3 on 1 on and off switch 3 on another. Found some corroded wires fixed it. Now the only way I can get them to work is have a heat light plugged into the 1st one and 1 switch will control all the lights. I think it's a ground issue not sure how the ground can cause this. Thanks for any information.

To me it seems like you might have a disconnected neutral somewhere and you possibly have a multi wire branch circuit with a shared neutral. I would check the voltage across the first receptacle with it unplugged and see what you get. If you get 240 that would be indicative of the problem I just described. I believe both switches would have to be on in order for the lights to be on and either switch would turn them all off, if that is what you mean by “1 switch will control all lights”.
