Tomcat - 11/3/2026 08:11 Co pilot wasn’t exactly a seasoned veteran. https://www.google.com/goto?url=CAESuAEB6zswFY5QhNKnqZPEX4lbvwTCDYui...

Anybody denigrating the age, experience, or gender of the First Officer can go piss up a rope.  She is a qualified type rated PILOT in this jet, just had not yet certified to be in command.

I've seen some stuff in aviation circles from a couple people who actually knew and worked with her.   They described her as for instance quote  "ridiculously smart" and extraordinarily capable.

Experience?   She had 1,700 hours in her logbook.   If you have zero hours in yours, you probably don't qualify to negatively spin her qualifications for the job.

For perspective, 1,700 hours is between 4 and 5x what an average USAAF or RAF four-engine bomber pilot had before entering combat, and they usually only had 100 or less on the actual B-24, B-17, Halifax, Lancaster, etc. types they took into operations.

Thanks for this reply. Speculating about the dead while their family mourns is incredibly poor taste. Especially when done by keyboard warriors who have absolutely no clue what they are talking about.
