NW Missouri | Did you see the part where I said half a dozen vehicles drive by all day long? If someone hits a parked truck when they can see it coming from a half mile away, I'm not too worried about being found at fault. It would have created much more of a hazard to throw slabs of mud all over the road with the cart than to do this - and even then the truck still would have been in the road. We loaded the truck in the road with the cart every other year that we farmed this because there was no other place to load it.
I understand your concern on a heavily traveled road (as I said in my original post). But this was not a heavily traveled road. This was a lone 40 acre tract with one crappy field entrance that was a pain to even get the cart in and out of. The landowner wouldn't spend a dime to improve the entrance, which is part of the reason I no longer farm it. The guy before us had a straight truck, which he loaded in the road. The guy after us has a semi, which he loads in the road. Because there is no other place. I guess we're all lucky we don't farm in IA. | |
