I asked Google if in November in Iowa it's okay to cut down the asparagus.  I have asparagus about 5 feet tall and bushy as all get out.

Google said it's okay to cut the "ferns" down to 2" and dispose of them.

What say you?  And I never heard of asparagus called a fern.
