Subject: Marketing feed grade popcorn

King City, Mo
I tried a bin out last fall for storing popcorn and it looks like it was a mistake as it got a bad spot in it maybe 1’ around going down in the bin.

When we pull out popcorn it mixes with all the good stuff and not worth the issue to send out for human consumption. If it was field corn bartlett would take it without batting an eye.

We have been feeding on it fine but with 16 fall calves and my other sons 200ish layin hens I dont think I can push 2000ish bushel into them plus the cleanout from the new crop corn we will clean as orders come in.

So looking for suggestions on how to market the reject popcorn. Feeder down the road was interested but isnt setup to have another bin of stuff separate.

Idk what a fair value is either? $2 a bushel? That’s less than half of st joe #2 field corn. Idk id its fair or not as
I haven’t studied feed analysis and blending feed much. Did find an old feeding book that had a feed analysis of popcorn.

Im just kinda lost on a direction to turn and would like to move on and get this screw up behind me.
