They married on November 1, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Had first met the previous April. Mom had graduated from Medical Technology training in Minneapolis MN and taken a job at a hospital lab in southwest Oklahoma, on simple blind trust.  Took the train from Iowa to Oklahoma and started a new job as a 19-yr-old. Married before she turned 20. Dad was a veteran of the 8th Army Air Force having served in England, France and Germany. Post-war he worked with his uncle building swimming pools. One of their projects was a pool at the Air Base at Alamagordo NM. They moved to Iowa in 1950 to farm with my maternal grandparents. They had a good life....ups and downs like all of us. Dad passed in 2004 at age 82 and Mom in 2023 at 95.
